Granny squares are a good way to start out.

I continue to learn and develop mindfulness through crochet. A peculiar choice of past-time, but it works for me.

Mindfulness is about being in the moment; being aware of the present moment. It is about acknowledging what is happening at the moment and in the moment.

Mindfulness is what makes meditation.

But, you don't necessarily have to be quiet to be mindful. It is even possible to be mindful even at your most active. It is these "busy" moments when mindfulness is probably most beneficial to me.

Whether it is physical training or a working on a project, being mindful of the moment goes a long way to keeping me focussed on what I am doing, what I am feeling and, most importantly, accepting what I can and cannot control int eh moment.

Learning mindfulness does not mean you need to learn to crochet or learn something new. All it takes is being aware of a moment and embracing everything in it.

Not all moments are good or happy. We need to apply mindfulness in "bad" moments because it is being aware of the moment is what will help you get through it.

I am learning to not overthink moments. It is not about analysing them. It is more about acknowledging the moment and creating the space to move on.
